Athletic Hall of Fame

The purpose of the Valwood Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of individual athletes, teams and/or supporters who represent excellence in sportsmanship, leadership, courage and teamwork.

The Valwood Athletic Hall of Fame is housed in the Jimmy Rainwater Lobby of the Eager Sports Center. The inductees’ names are inscribed on plaques located on the wall display.

The inaugural class was inducted on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Godwin-Holmes Arts Center. The inaugural class includes Robin Carter Coleman ’77, athlete, Maurey Copeland ’87, athlete, Roy Copeland ’01, athlete, Bill Eager, coach and supporter, Paul King ’80, athlete, and the 1974 Championship Soccer team.  Eager was awarded posthumously.

The 2019 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner was held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Rodgers Performance Hall in the Godwin Holmes Arts Center on the Valwood School Campus.
