Valwood's vision and dream have remained constant since its founding in 1968: To be a school that embraces the values of a classical education coupled with a learning environment founded in love. In a contemporary culture that witnesses many of our sacred institutions lowering standards to meet the lowest common denominator, Valwood aspires to do the opposite. At Valwood, we demand hard work and dedication from our students. We embrace the ethic of personal responsibility. We do not apologize for holding students accountable for their work and their actions. We seek to encourage character and service and to provide an atmosphere in which mutual respect and trust characterize the relationships between faculty and students. We acknowledge that our students live in a complex world and that, as graduates, they will be required to work, live, and lead in a world even more complex.
