
HAHIRA, GA – April 6, 2026 – Students from Valwood School delivered an outstanding performance at the State Science Olympiad Tournament held on April 4 at Georgia Tech.
Competing against top teams from across Georgia, Valwood students earned multiple medals and recognitions across a range of challenging STEM events.

Additional team members contributing to the team’s success included Katie Min, Grayson Hall, Tommy Marrero, Matt Trickett, Mason Beecroft, and Tyler Lightfoot.
The Valiants are coached by Joy Ownes and Danielle Guillot. Science Olympiad challenges students in a wide range of scientific disciplines, including biology, engineering, and earth science, requiring teamwork, problem-solving, and in-depth knowledge.
