Head of School Search
Mr. John Davis will step down as Head of School at the conclusion of the 2026–27 academic year. After nine years of dedicated leadership at Valwood, the school community is deeply grateful for his service and commitment, and we look forward to celebrating his many contributions in the months ahead.
Following this announcement, the Valwood School Board of Trustees formed the Head of School Search Committee to identify and appoint the next Head of School. The incoming leader will serve as Valwood’s eleventh permanent Head of School and the sixth permanent head since 1988.
The Valwood School Board of Trustees is committed to conducting a comprehensive, nationwide search to identify a leader who will continue to advance Valwood’s mission of Academics, Character, and Service. Throughout the process, the committee will seek meaningful engagement and input from across the Valwood community, including parents, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
