March 30, 2018

HAHIRA — Three Valwood middle school students recently served as pages at the Georgia State Capitol.

Eighth-graders Rebecca Moody and Lilly Respess and seventh-grader Elle Scruggs assisted legislators including John LaHood, Jesse Petrea, Dexter Sharper and Speaker of the House David Ralston, according to school officials.

All three students said it was an experience they will never forget and they would love to do it again next year.

The Georgia House of Representatives’ Page Program, is an exclusive opportunity offering Georgia students between 12 and 18 years of age and older to visit the State Capitol and serve the members of the House of Representatives. The program has become an essential part of the services provided to both the legislators and the public.
