The Valwood boys basketball team lost 42-35 against the Deerfield-Windsor Knights in the GISA Region 3-3A championship at the Storm Dome in Americus on Friday night.
In an off-night for both offenses, the Valiants came up short and finished as runners-up.
Deerfield led 7-4 after the first period, 13-10 at halftime and 26-18 heading into the fourth.
Valwood travels for its opening-round game of the GISA state playoffs Wednesday.
