In the Spring, the Valwood School Board of Trustees approved the dedication of the following spaces:  the Choral Room in the Godwin Holmes Arts Center, the Lower School Art Room in the Godwin Holmes Arts Center and the Upper School Chemistry Lab.  On April 24, 2008 Valwood School dedicated these spaces in honor of the Tidmore and Lawrence families.

In a ceremony dedicating the spaces, Headmaster, Cobb Atkinson thanked the families for their commitment and leadership.  John Lastinger, Board Chair, also expressed his appreciation for their support.   
 
The Lower School Art Room was dedicated the Esther Coffin Miller Art Room in honor of the memory of Esther Coffin Miller grandmother to Josephine and George Tidmore.   Mrs. Miller was an enthusiastic supporter of education, who would be proud of the leadership provided the school by Jennifer Lawrence and William Tidmore. 

The Choral Room was dedicated the George and Martha Lawrence Choral Room in honor of George and Martha Lawrence, grandparents to Josephine and George Tidmore, and life-long supporters of music education.  

The Upper School Chemistry Lab was dedicated in appreciation of the leadership provided the school by Jennifer Lawrence and William Tidmore. 

Valwood proudly and gratefully salutes the leadership and commitment of the Tidmore - Lawrence family.
