The induction ceremony for new members to the Valwood Chapters of the National Honor Society (NHS) and the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) was held on March 22, 2004 in the Valwood Student Center with the inductees, their parents and many Valwood faculty present.

The students processed to the piano accompaniment of Hunter New, 2003-2004 NHS president.  NHS treasurer, Jessica Marquardt led the group in the pledge to the flag.

Honor Society members are selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service and character. The following Upper School students were inducted into the National Honor Society:  Philip Allen, Billie Anderson, Lauren Bailey, Jennifer Carlon, Kimberly Carlon, Andrew DeLong, Will Elliott, Alison Keener, Andrew Kelly, David Kelly, Mary Catherine Mackey, Callie Martin, Ben Montague, Andy Slater, Jason Stewart, Candice Vinson, and Justin Yanushefski.

Students inducted into the National Junior Honor Society were:  Bianca Cooper, Gus Elliott, John Gregory Joseph, Carter Karras, Lindsey Megow, Kristine Phillips, Joy Powell, Adam Rigoni, Courtney Sayre, Deron Smith, and Chappell Wolfson.

Upper School English teacher, Peter Allen sponsors the Nation Honor Society.  Upper/Middle School mathematics teacher, Kristen Cornatzer is the National Junior Honor Society sponsor.
