A new exciting way you can redirect a portion of your Georgia income tax dollars to Valwood School, providing financial assistance for a current public school student to attend Valwood.
Under a recent state law, you can take advantage of a tax credit and redirect a portion of your Georgia income tax dollars to an approved scholarship program. We have partnered with the Georgia GOAL (Greater Opportunities for Access to Learning) Scholarship Program, a state-approved student scholarship organization, to enable our supporters to take advantage of this program.
How it works:
A simple two-step process for taxpayers:
- Contribute to GOAL:
Send the following items to Valwood School
- Your completed GOAL Scholarship Contribution Form
- Your signed IT-QEE-TP1 Form
- Your check payable to Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program
Valwood will forward these items to GOAL, and GOAL will manage the paperwork and approval process as follows:
- Fill out your IT-QEE-TP1 Form using your GOAL Form information
- Fax or email your TP1 Form to the DOR for pre-approval
- Receive approval from the DOR by return Fax or return email
- Process your contribution check when DOR approval is received
- Send you a copy of your approved TP1 Form
- Send you a Form IT-QEE-SSO1 acknowledging your contributi
- Claim the Credit:
- File your Georgia income tax return and take the credit
- GOAL will send tax filing instructions early in 2010 to assist you
