Valwood senior, Stephen Myers has been named among the 3,100 Outstanding Participants in the National Achievement Scholarship Program being referred to U.S. colleges and universities.  Stephen scored in the top 3% of the more than 160,000 Black Americans who requested consideration in the 2010 National Achievement Program.

The annual scholarship competition is conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and was established in 1964 to honor academically promising Black American high school students. 

Stephen is the son of Rev. Sharon and Rev. Ron Jackson of Valdosta.
