The Valwood Lower School spread holiday cheer to our brave service men and women here in our area and across the world. For the ninth year in a row, the Lower School sponsored the Moody Air Force Base Cookie Drive. Children and parents delivered homemade cookies curbside at morning and afternoon dropoff. A group of our own Air Force wives distributed the cookies to enlisted men and women who are serving on base and are unable to be with their families during the holiday season.
Mrs. Barr's and Mrs. Hale's Kindergarten students and Mrs. Brown's first graders participated in "Project Reindeer," a nationwide letter writing campaign to spread a little Christmas cheer and thanks to our troops serving overseas. Each child wrote and illustrated letters which were included in Christmas care packages being assembled and sent to the troops. The children included return addresses in hopes of hearing from some of our brave soldiers.
