Debate Camp

This camp is designed to introduce the beginning-level student to policy debate. Students will learn the art of debate in all its forms - setting up an affirmative case - harms, significance, inherency, solvency. Also, students will learn the negative case, such as topicality, disadvantage, counterplan, and critique. We will also discuss the new 2009-2010 high school debate resolution and some ideas for your team. Have fun acting, singing, and putting on a show. Campers will learn how to be great actors! We will practice stage presentation, learn dialogs, and on Friday end our camp with our own production! Little Valiant Basketball Camp

Help us kick off the start to something new at Valwood, the Little Valiant Basketball Club for boys and girls. Boys and girls will begin to learn the basics of playing basketball. Individual skills will begin with dribbling, passing, and shooting. The basic rules of how to play will be practiced during scrimmages. This will then be continued during our Valiant basketball season with games taking place between our JV and Varsity games once a week at home.
Little Valiant Cheerleading Camp
Ages: Rising PK - 5th grades
Enrollment: No maximum
Date: July 27 - July 31

Campers will learn Valwood cheers, dances, and most of all - that "Valiant Spirit!" All instruction will be given by the Varsity Cheerleaders. Snacks will be provided each day. Free t-shirt to all participants.
PE Fun and Games
Ages: Rising Kindergarten - 8th grades
Enrollment: Minimum-10, maximum 164
Dates: June 22 - 25

Cost - $125 per week
The PE Fun and Games Camp is designed to allow for the maximum amount of fun while learning different skills and getting exercise. Some of the games will include kickball, volleyball, 4 square, jumping rope, hula hoops, badminton, crazy relay races, and basketball. There will be prizes, surprises, give-aways and refreshments each day. Taxi service home each day on the Valwood school bus will be available for an additional charge. Coach Mike Patrick and Coach Brett Martin have a combined 30 plus years of educating and coaching young people and are trained in CPR and AED defibrillator use. Don't pass up this opportunity for your child to have fun, learn teambuilding skills and sportsmanship, and get some exercise this summer.
Softball Camp

Learn the fundamentals of softball and the rules of the game. Develop your throwing, hitting, catching, and base running skills. New to the game? Come and develop the skills to play. If you are interested in pitching, time will be spent on the basics of the pitch, including drills that will help you develop into a fast pitcher.
