Valwood Students compete annually in the Georgia Independent School Association Region 3-AA literary meet. Events included in this competition include Piano, Boys' Quartet, Boys' Solo, Girls' Trio, Girls' Solo, Extemporaneous Speaking (Boys and Girls), Oral Interpretation (Boys and Girls), Argumentative Essay (Boys and Girls), Personal Essay, and Spelling. The top two finishers at the region tournament advance to State.

Valwood School finished first overall at Region in 2003, and 2nd overall at State.
