Valwood students were among some talented artists featured recently at the Smith Northview Hospital Children's Art Exhibit. The students used various mediums including watercolors, oil pastels, tempera paintings, collage, colored pencil, and mixed media. Flowers, self-portraits, landscapes, and molas were just a few of the pieces entered by students from PK through 8th grade. Teachers, families and friends attended a reception held to honor the students and their work. According to Valwood Art Teacher Keri George, "Art not only teaches students how to think creatively, but brings beauty and joy to all who see it. The students' art really brightened up the hospital hallways."
