Everyone has settled into the Lower School routine and is doing well! Thanks for your support and encouragement!

We had a GREAT LOWER SCHOOL PARENTS NIGHT!!! Every room looked spectacular and the parents were mesmerized and amazed at what you teach their children every day! CONGRATULATIONS! The highlight of the night was the presentation of the American Flag flown over the Command Post in Afghanistan where our soldiers and civilians train the Afghani Police. Todd Pitchford, father of Ellison (4^th) and Julia (7^th) presented the framed flag and certificate to Mrs. Hamman, Dr. Cox and Tom Gooding and received a standing ovation. Mr. Pitchford quoted Ellison saying, "Every day is a great day at Valwood!"

PEP RALLY at 9:25 FRIDAY MORNING IN THE GYM!!! All Fall Sports Teams will be introduced and who knows what else J!!! SEE YOU THERE! M & US will follow a Funky Day Schedule which does affect us and our teachers who travel across campus.

Get your PUBLIX PARTNERS CARD today! We have a new supply so give them to all your friends and family to use. Every little bit helps!!!

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IN TENNIS SHOES EVERY DAY! Athletic Tennis Shoes are preferred as they offer the best support for your child's growing feet! Converse All-Stars are cute and fashionable but do not provide proper support for all of the running, jumping and playing our Little Valiants do every day. The children have already said their feet hurt when they wear the Converse shoes. Thank you for your help!

·         Thursday, September 2 - Lady Valiants Softball @ Terrell Academy @ 4:00.

·         Friday, September 3 - First HOME FOOTBALL GAME vs. Fullington @ 7:30. We will also have our first Pep Rally of the year that morning! Come out and cheer for your Valiants!!

·         Monday, September 6 - Labor Day Holiday. NO SCHOOL for students and faculty/staff.

·         Thursday, September 9 - Cub Scout Round Up for 1^st -5^th grade boys and parents. More information forthcoming. ALSO - FIRST HOME JV FOOTBALL GAME! Watch the Valiants of the future!!

·         Friday, September 10 - SALLY FOSTER COOKIE DOUGH ORDERS DUE!!! Think ahead and order an extra tub or two! The dough will arrive just a few days before our ANNUAL MOODY AFB HOLIDAY COOKIE DRIVE!!! What a great way to get into the spirit of giving!!

BOOKSTORE HOURS - Mondays & Thursdays 2:00 - 3:45 p.m. and Friday mornings 7:30 - 8:15 a.m. Please consider volunteering to work in The Bookstore in the mornings, during lunch or in the afternoons so it will be open at convenient times for all of us! Contact Mitzi Parrish at mparrish@valwood.org.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS & BITES ARE BACK AT VALWOOD!

The campus is all a-buzz over our Varsity Football teams impressive win over arch-rival Tiftarea in Chula last Friday night! We will carry that excitement into this Friday's home opener against Fullington! Kick off is at 7:30 on Goddard Field but come out early and tailgate with your fellow Valiants! Chef Don will also be firing up the grill and offering a variety of great food throughout the evening!

Little Valiant Cheerleaders will perform during halftime!!! It's great family fun!! GO-O-O-O MIGHTY VALIANTS!
Parents, remember to USE YOUR TURN SIGNAL EVERY MORNING and to refrain from cell phone use while approaching and driving on campus during drop off and dismissal. Thank you.
